Strategies and Workflows for our Flexible E-Publishing Program

In addition to the below services, OBS also offers basic conversion from PDF to several eBook file formats. Please see our table of conversion rates for more details.

Rapid Access to Market: Standard Conversion and Distribution

Conversion: You provide us with print-ready PDFs of your title(s). Use our rate table to determine an estimated conversion cost, and send us a sample for a firm quote on conversion plus any other requested services (procuring ISBN, typesetting any new pages, etc.)

Distribution: Once we have converted your files, there are several distribution options: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple, and interactive social reading platform(s). You can choose to distribute your titles through one, all, or any combination of these channels. OBS will create a seller profile for you, upload your initial title(s), and then pass the reins to you.

Fees and royalty structures vary by distribution channel; our reasonable one-time project management fee is based on the number of file formats and distribution outlets you choose.

The Online Book Store – Custom reporting, marketing options

The Online Book Store allows you to test the waters of the eBook market with minimal financial risk. For a low per-title cost, you can sell your book online in:

  • eBook format, either for cloud-based reading or for download;
  • Print format through your established distribution channels; or
  • Print-on-demand (POD) format using the cutting-edge Espresso Book Machine (EBM)

    • An added advantage to The Online Book Store is the ability to know your customers: unlike major e-tailers, we provide custom reporting that details who your customers are, what they purchased, and when. We offer a complete, end-to-end distribution and reporting package with a wide range of options, tailored to your needs:

    e-Distribution: Publish your eBook either for cloud-based viewing or for download. The interactive marketing widget included in your per-title cost allows users to browse excerpts of your titles and share them via email and social media sites.

    Standard Distribution: We can integrate into your established distribution channels

    Print-on-Demand: Using established POD vendors, including the Espresso Book Machine (EBM), your readers can order a freshly-printed copy of your title and have it printed and bound in minutes and then shipped.

    Customized eBookstore – Know Your Customer

    If you are looking for a unique, customized way to distribute your e-content, this is the solution for you. First, we will work with you to establish the branding and overall layout of your eBookstore. Then, we can either run your eBookstore on a monthly retainer basis, or train your staff in using the back-end administrative interface, including how to:

  • Upload new eBooks
  • Generate and share marketing widgets for your eBooks
  • Access and manage sales and customer reports
